I thought I’d post some activities to do at home and keep your kids and little ones engaged during the lockdown. It isn’t easy having to keep little energy tanks and their small hands busy.
If you’re at home with kids to entertain why not get cutting and sticking? Collages are a fun way for kids to use their creativity. If you don’t have glue, use flour mixed with some water. If you don’t have coloured paper, old magazines, or newspaper? There are always options. Try onion or garlic peels. It’s a fun and interesting way of learning the decaying process with kids. If you’re using sweet wrappers give them a rinse beforehand. You’ll probably be in for an “antful” surprise if you don’t.
Some other activities:
1. Use the heads of lady fingers, leaves, or an old sponge, or toothbrush dipped in paint to make interesting patterns and prints.
2. Trace the outlines of their favourite toys. If you don’t have access to strong sunlight, use a lamp or other moveable light sources.
3. Paint stones or rocks. It’s a fun way to go ‘rock-hunting’ around the house, and having to actively wash them. It’s all about staying active and the excitement of doing something new.
Get creative during this isolation time. Let me know if you try out any of these.
Happy Tuesday everyone!
